Firstly, the CSK is NOT a Velar, so I'm moving this to the Classic boards.

Secondly, isn't H105JKV the one that is currently for sale on eBay? If so, 1) it looks pretty complete, so should have the CSK ID plate on the radio housing and 2) taking the doors off it to put on a Velar WILL NOT WORK - they're different designs.
Thinks Land Rover should lend me an Evoque for a long term test / review!

It would be a great shame to sacrifice a CSK for a Velar. Doing so (apart from the fact the door won't fit) would de-value both cars, both of which are definitely worth saving.
(There's some 2-door doors on eBay at the moment which would be a closer match to the Velar ones than the CSK doors)

The CSK numbers did not correspond to chassis numbers or the order in which the cars came off the production line, so your best (only) bet at the moment would be to do some more digging... When I took the centre console out of my CSK I found that the wood trim pieces around the door switches and gear lever had the CSK no. written on them. That's unusual though as the CSK numbers were allocated after the cars had all been built. If you can't find any identifying marks like that, then the best bet would be to ask LandRover direct, as I believe they still have the build records for 1990.

Full records of all special factory vehicles are available from Land Rover at Lode Lane for a fee of approx £40 per vehicle.

Range Rovers built in the early days e.g. Velars have there records kept at the Hertigate Center at Gaydon. Peter Kenworthy can get these for a fee (RRR mebers get discount). Most other vehicles details from early to about 1985 I beleive are in the hands of the Dunsfold Collection in Surrey.

However, Microfiche records have all the information of most of the vehicles made including engine numbers, chassis numbers and vin numbers.

parts from a CSK would not be worth £3,000.... a complete vehicle with a MOT may be!
Last CSK that I knew about that was sold went with a years ticket, in imaculate condition with FSH for £4,000.

It will be obvious to an enthisiast that the car will be worth nothing if not complete.
